In 2023, he completed the Coast to Coast National Trail (192 mile/309 km), embracing the adventure every step of the way.

Our Volunteers

Amenawon Okoh

Amenawon Okoh is a volunteer with Manchester's community project Rejoice With Voice!

Amenawon Okoh is a Nigerian-born actress, costume designer, fashion designer, and singer. She graduated from the University of Benin, Nigeria, in 2018 with a BA in Theatre Arts, focusing on costume design. Her theatre career began in 2012, and she went on to perform in numerous productions. Notably, she led a team of 15 actors in an awareness campaign about human trafficking, commissioned by the UK Cabinet and UKAID. This reinforced her belief in the arts as a tool for social change. In 2022, Amenawon moved to the UK to pursue fashion, completing a master's in Fashion Design at the University of Salford in 2024. She established her own fashion business in Nigeria in 2019, showcasing original designs. For Amenawon, theatre and fashion are intertwined forms of storytelling and self-expression. A Roman Catholic Amenawon worships at a church in Gorton, Manchester.

Angela Weekes

Angela Weekes is a volunteer with Manchester's community project Rejoice With Voice!

Angela's family comes from the beautiful island of Barbados and as a first-generation Windrush descendant she is proud to be a Mancunian. Born and raised in Manchester, she carries both her heritage and her home city close to her heart. Angela studied Catering at Salford College/University and began her career at Granada Studios as part of the catering team. During this time she also pursued her passion for performance and as a dancer, she toured the UK and also returned to her family’s homeland of Barbados to share her art.

Today, Angela works as a Customer Service Officer for Manchester City Council’s Corporate Services, where she continues to bring dedication, warmth, and a strong sense of community spirit to her role. Cooking remains one of her greatest joys, especially watching people come together and delight in her food. When not at work, Angela enjoys socialising with friends, eating out, and family gatherings. Whether through food, performance, or community, she brings a little flavour and plenty of joy wherever she goes.

Elizabeth Walsh

Elizabeth Walsh - the website designer for the community project Rejoice With Voice!

Originally from Yorkshire Elizabeth joined the Huddersfield Youth Choir whilst she was at school. She loved being part of a well-trained choir and the opportunities to perform amazing music in beautiful buildings, go on concert tours, join in residential voice-training weekends and make new friends. After A Levels she crossed the Pennies to train as a beauty therapist in Manchester. When she qualified she worked on board luxury cruise ships for much of her twenties. Her next move was to the Welsh border town of Monmouth where she married, raised a family and re-trained as a website designer.

In 2025 Elizabeth was delighted to be asked to design and produce a website for Rejoice With Voice! This website is her ongoing personal contribution and it gives her huge pleasure to work alongside her Manchester friends. It also reminds her that being part of a community who share a love of music and drama, as well as the value of cherishing long-term friendships, is what makes everyday life really sparkle.
